Areas Of Interest Resource allocation in communication networks, Stochastic optimization

I am Vinay Joseph. I am an Assistant Professor in ECE Department at NIT Calicut since May 2020.

In addition to teaching, I have experience in research, standardization and commercialization of communication technologies.

My research interests are broadly in topics related to communication networks, analysis and design of resource allocation algorithms, and stochastic optimization. My Google Scholar page is here.

Brief Bio:

  • I have been working with PhyTunes Inc as a consultant since May 2021 on enhancing the delivery of 5G/WiFi-6 via wireline links.

  • I am a co-inventor of more than 30 granted patents related to areas like 4G, 5G, small cells, URLLC, Industrial IoT, AR/VR, video streaming etc.

  • I was with Qualcomm Wireless R&D (San Diego) between 2013-2020, working on small cells (self-configuration, resource/mobility management) and 5G (3GPP) focusing on upper layers, industrial IoT and URLLC.

  • I received my PhD in 2013 from the University of Texas at Austin. I received my M.E. in 2009 from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, and my B.Tech in 2007 from National Institute of Technology Calicut.
