STUDENT ACTIVITIES DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2015-2016

  • Orientation for new admissions-This was conducted on 27th July, by the members of ECEA and the faculty for the first year B. Tech, M. Tech and PhD. students. This was to inform them about their course, as well as the general rules and regulations of the college.
  • Mock GATE exams conducted regularly for ECE students.
  • ECE stall for Tathva- The ECEA was instrumental in organizing the branch stall during Tathva, the annual techno-management fest of NIT Calicut. During the 3 day fest in 2016, the stall was active with the interesting projects designed by students across the whole department. Interactive electronic circuits were also displayed during the fest for the sake of common crowd. Students of all years enthusiastically played their part in making the stall a success.
  • Workshop on MIT App Inventor was conducted for second year ECE students by the senior executives on 23rd July 2016.
  • Workshop on Research Methodology, Google Science Journal and Interaction with senior Researchers was conducted for all branches on December 31st 2016.
  • Electro quiz- A .quiz competition for the first year ECE students on basic electronics and general knowledge, conducted on 28th December 2016.
  • Hobby Circuits-A hands-on workshop on basic circuits for first year ECE students, organized by ECEA executives on February 11th, 2017.
  • Illuminaire-. It contained interesting articles on campus happenings, compiled by the ECEA executives. The fourth edition of the newsletter was released on October 2016.
  • Talks: i) talk on Video Delivery Optimization by Dr Vinay Joseph, ii) A talk on “Profession beyond Graduation” by Mr Krishnagiri V Iyer iii) A talk on “Silicon Technology-Past, Present and Future” by Dr Deleep R Nair

  • Workshop on NGSpice was conducted for second year ECE students by the senior executives on 19th January 2015.
  • Hobby Circuits-A hands-on workshop on basic circuits for first year ECE students, organized by ECEA executives on March 14th, 2015.
  • Illuminaire- The first official newsletter of ECE department was released on 19th January, 2015, followed by the second edition on 25th April 2015. It contained interesting articles on campus happenings, compiled by the ECEA executives.
